Story of our lives

The simplicity of the chaos in your head

The words that remain unspoken

The ones that you let out too soon

The ones that shouldn’t have been said at all

The spooling emotions in the silence

The stifled outburst in an argument

Trying too hard to please those guys

This one is for the girl who ends up in the wrong addresses

Handing out booty calls in the middle of the night

Until she hits the pavement, closed out in the cold

Life is a liar, she now keeps her heart in a safebox

Chasing a girl, a boy, a shadow

Hanging on a whisper, a promise, a memory

He was gone before you could construct his whole face

This dream was never yours in the first place

But these things you fight for

These things you hang on

You are a loser who’s never learnt how to lose

But he’s a lover who’s never learnt how to love

Chasing a dream, letting go

Chasing money, a job

Clicking send, sitting tight, biting your nails

Waiting for a miracle

But spamming promotions and online dating inboxes find you first

Eating sugar and binge watching on Empire with the drapes drawn

Then hating your waistline for its greed

Trying to fit in

Make yourself visible to that crowd

But you’ve always been so good at shrinking

You are the girl who hides in the middle

Too much spotlight in the front seat

The much suspicion in the back seat

Living on a prayer

Asking for the things you want

It was okay before you looked to the other side

Wanting what those guys have

Getting the things you need from Him who knew you before you ever were

About sensoria300

I harness words, I thrive on them. I tell stories. I am dreamer, sometimes a poet but mostly I am a Game of Thrones fanatic. Lady Olenna, Lyanna Mormont and Arya Stark are my spirit animals.

  1. Sounds like a tough situation. Awesome writing as always Sensoria

  2. Had to come back and read it again. It seems so deep and an unleashing of things that most keep hidden
